ORGANISATION
Support-a-Child-in-Need is governed by its Trustees. It is a registered charity, registered in the UK on the Central Register of Charities by the Charities Commission for England and Wales. The registration number for Support-a-Child-in-Need is 1098705. There are currently five trustees. The trustees are responsible for policy and implementation, with all financial accounts audited annually, with a copy to the Charities Commission. In addition, Support-a-Child-in-Need has professional support in India including legal, financial and medical expertise. The Central Register of Charities lists the objectives of Support-a-Child-in-Need as:
1. The relief of poverty, sickness and distress, by the provision of financial and such other charitable support for children and young people. These overall objectives are accomplished as outlined in 'ABOUT US' The governing document of Support-a-Child-in-Need is the 'Declaration of Trust for a Charitable Trust (GD2 )' , signed by the trustees and witnessed independently. A copy of this document is held by the Charities Commission for England and Wales. This document defines the powers, duties, appointments, conduct of meetings, eligibility for trusteeship, annual reports, etc that control the activities and responsibilities of the trustees. This document also contains the following clause (Clause 25) that defines the financial conduct of the Trustees:

1. No trustee may buy goods or services from the charity, or sell goods or services to the charity, or receive remuneration, or receive any other financial benefit from the charity, or from any trading company owned by the charity, except in accordance with this deed. The trustees of Support-a-Child-in-Need fully intend to operate in accordance with the above and all other clauses contained in the Declaration of Trust.
